CFB Team Fantasy offers a unique twist on traditional college football fantasy games by allowing participants to draft entire teams rather than individual players. In this format, all FBS college football teams are categorized based on their respective states, with each state assigned a specific point value. After assembling their roster of teams, participants aim to accrue points based on the win percentages of the teams selected, competing for the top standings within each state.

The importance of every game is underscored by the structure of the season. From the initial week through conference championships, bowl games, playoffs, and ultimately the national championship, each game's outcome contributes to final win-loss records that determine state winners.

Each state's point value is distinct, influenced by several factors such as the number of teams present and the competitiveness expected for that year. Participants have the option to either join or create leagues that range from 2 to 12 players. The league's commissioner takes charge of inviting players and scheduling the draft, which utilizes a randomly generated order in a snake draft format until all 134 FBS teams are selected.

For those unable to attend the draft or who experience connectivity issues, an auto-draft feature is available. This option automatically selects teams based on Projected Point Output (PPO) rankings, ensuring a selection based on the highest available PPO value.

Team performances are measured within their home state, where unique conditions apply. In cases where a single FBS team resides in a state, they compete within an Independent category alongside similar solitary teams from other states. For example, Hawaii may find itself competing against teams like Boise State and Minnesota within this framework.

Points are awarded exclusively to the top two teams with the best win percentages within each state. In scenarios where there are only two competing teams, points will be allocated solely to the first-place team. Tiebreaker mechanisms are established for instances of equal win percentages, primarily giving precedence to head-to-head results from their matchups during the season.

The ultimate objective for participants is to accumulate the highest point total in their league by strategically drafting teams poised for success in states that offer substantial points rewards. Thus, selecting teams with favorable win percentages in high-value states becomes critical in shaping a winning strategy.
